Tuesday’s pre-market trading saw the biotech selling at $15.60, a 36% decrease from Monday’s closing share price of $24.45.
William Blair analysts wrote in a letter to clients on Tuesday morning that the medications’ trial findings cast doubt on their future, despite Sarepta’s optimism. They added, “We consider the ESSENCE trial’s inability to achieve its main goal to be a negative development.”
Although management is certain that Vyondys 53 and Amondys 45 will not lose their marketing authorization as a result, we remain doubtful and believe that the stock’s response (down 37% after hours) indicates that investors are likewise worried about these two drugs’ future.
