The Clinical Trials Information System’s (CTIS) public website now features a new clinical trial map. The map is intended to increase access to clinical research in the European Union (EU) by giving patients and medical professionals quick access to thorough, up-to-date information regarding clinical trials carried out nearby.

The map enhances the way users navigate CTIS and locate information regarding clinical trials, building on the public information already available in the system. Users can search for ongoing studies by medical condition and geographic location. In addition to supporting layman’s language inquiries, the search engine has an autocorrect feature that offers alternatives when a word is misspelled.
Members of the public can directly inquire about possible enrollment in a particular trial by using the contact information provided by the investigator in search results. The map’s initial version is available in English. Future editions will include more EU languages.
